Holy Week and Easter Services

We have a variety of different services during Holy Week and Easter. You are most welcome to join us as we mark this special time.

The following listings are for all services held at Marlborough Road, some of which are led by our friends from St Peter’s Church who are sharing our church building with us at the moment. St Albans Methodist Churches will also be sharing a service together at Hatfield Road Methodist Church, which is just under a mile away in Fleetville. Please feel welcome to attend any of the services listed below.

  • Palm Sunday Communion

    Sunday 24 March at 10:30am

    Join us for a special Communion service to mark the start of Holy Week. Followed by Tea and Coffee. Service led Rev Daniel Yovan and St Peter’s Ministry Team

  • Palm Sunday Evensong

    Sunday 24 March at 5pm

    A reflective Evensong as we journey together into Holy Week. Led by the choir and clergy of St Peter’s church.

    Maundy Thursday Communion Service

    Thursday 28 March at 7pm

    Celebrate the Lord’s Supper with us as we recall the events of Maundy Thursday. Joint service with our friends from Hatfield Road Methodist church. Service led by Rev Daniel Yovan with St Peter’s Ministry Team.

Good Friday

  • Good Friday Service at Hatfield Road Methodist Church

    Friday 29 March at 10:30am

    Please join us at Hatfield Road Methodist Church for our joint Methodist service - a time to reflect on Jesus’ passion and death.

  • Good Friday + Reflections on the Cross

    Friday 29 March from 1-3pm

    Four half-hour reflections with choral music, hymns and prayers.

  • Good Friday Evensong

    Friday 29 March at 6pm

    An evening service meditating on the events of Good Friday. Led by the choir and clergy of St Peter’s church.

Easter Day

  • Easter Day All-Age Communion

    Sunday 31 March at 10:00am

    Celebrate Easter Day with us! Join our family-friendly service as we worship together on this special day! Led by the choir and clergy of St Peter’s church. PLEASE NOTE EARLIER START TIME

  • Easter Day Mattins

    Sunday 31 March at 11:30am

    Join us for a traditional service of Mattins to celebrate Easter Day. Led by the St Peter's choir and clergy.

  • Easter Day Evensong

    Sunday 31 March at 6pm

    All are welcome to our evening service, which features Easter hymns and music sung by St Peter’s choir.
