Building community in the heart of Salisbury Village

What we do at Cornerstone

Situated in a residential community, Cornerstone House offers pastoral care and a Christian presence in the heart of a neighbourhood. The door is open to all, support can include help with practical problems or a listening ear when life gets tough. Deacon Nigel and Jane would love to meet you so why not drop in to some of the groups they offer…

  • Community Groups

Life at Cornerstone can get busy! We cater for lots of different age groups, whether you are aged a few months old or quite a few years old!

A baby sensory area on a Wednesday morning, warm Welcome on a Thursday morning and a thriving after school group on a Thursday afternoon. We also hold themed events which include a mens curry evening, Christmas and Easter Craft workshops and much more.

  • Informal Worship

Each month at 5pm we hold our “Faith Talk” gathering. This is very informal and as the name suggests, we talk faith!

It may be about prayer, who is Jesus? Where is God in this? Or anything else you can think of to ask about faith! We begin with food and end with some songs and music. An informal and safe place to explore what being a Christian is all about.

  • Working with young people

At Cornerstone we work with other community groups, one such group is Young Life International. A small group of teenagers meet weekly to engage with each other and their leaders. They get to discuss the big questions in life and grow in their faith as they study the Bible together.

For more information on their work in Welwyn and Hatfield please check out their website.

School ChaplaincyAs part of our ongoing work in the community we have started a School Chaplaincy with the local senior school. Working alongside the school, and other church leaders, School Chaplains support young people, chat to parents and help with any pastoral needs that may arise.
