We are a city centre church in the heart of St Albans

Our Calling is to respond to the gospel of God’s love in Christ and to live out its discipleship in worship and mission.
We are called to let our whole way of life respond to God’s call, letting life grow in each one of us every day. Nurturing life in the Church, bringing life to the World.

This is the Methodist Way. The Methodist Church claims and cherishes its place in the wider Christian Church. For general information about our beliefs, emphases and practices, please click here.

Our church community is committed to being a good neighbour to people in need, to challenge injustice and to be friends with people of other cultures and faiths - read our mission statement here.

  • Celebrating life events

Celebrating life events and providing a space for conversation and fellowship is central to our church life. We are an inclusive church and welcome everyone. Find out more about how we can support you at every stage of your faith journey.

  • Church groups and events

We host a number of groups and events. From our popular toddler group to coffee mornings and Thinking Lunches, a monthly opportunity to listen to a speaker representing a local, national or international group or charity about their work.

  • Community chaplaincy

Marlborough Road Methodist Church and Hatfield Road Methodist Church support St Albans’ Anna Chaplaincy Lead, Maggie Dodd. Maggie is a Layworker and reaches out to care home communities, visits the elderly and offers spiritual support to older people.

Cornerstone House

Situated in the Salisbury Village estate in Hatfield, Deacon Nigel and his wife Jane offer a warm welcome, a community space and a listening ear for local people.

“Holiday at Home is something I look forward to every year, fun, fellowship and great food!”
